The Learning and Discovery team are excited to announce that our Mini Explorers programme is back for 2024! This exciting two-day kids club for children aged 6 – 7, is perfect for your little ones who love wildlife and being outdoors!

Each day runs 9:30am – 3:00pm and Mini Explorers will discover lots about our animals on the foot safari with the chance to either watch an exclusive animal feed, or make an exciting present for one of these animals every day! We will also be taking a VIP tour of the Safari Drive to explore many different continents - hopefully seeing all 800 of our animals! Also included within the two days are lots of fun games, crafts and other activities that the children can get involved in.

Included in the price is a USB full of photos that will be taken across the 2 days.

Please note: Due to the nature of working with animals we cannot 100% guarantee any activities. These sessions must be booked in advance and they are non-transferable and non-refundable.

A 5-day summer holiday club perfect for youngsters aged 8 – 10 who love animals, conservation and nature!

It’s back for 2024! Our Intrepid Explorers is a fun holiday programme where children take part in a range of activities exploring the natural world and how to look after it. This includes a range of games, crafts and messy activities.

The best part is, there will be one awesome animal activity that the children get to participate in each day! See the meerkats playing with their enrichment or the wolves mess around with smelly bags!

Each day will run 9.00am- 3.30pm and they will have so much fun they won’t even know they are learning! As part of their experience kids receive a photo USB and certificate.

Our Junior Rangers programme is back for 2024!

Saturday 16th – Sunday 17th March

Our Junior Rangers Kids Club is a two-day programme for children aged 11-14 who love nature and being outdoors!  The day runs 9.00 to 3.30pm.

The programme includes a mix of animal activities, interactive activities and design/drawing challenges. Animal activities may vary but can include making enrichment for our animals and an enclosure muck out! There will also be chances throughout the programme to ask our keepers any questions you may have about our animals.

During this programme our Junior Rangers will also have the chance to jump on our baboon bus and visit some of our animals up on the Safari Drive area too.

All children will receive a certificate and photo USB at the end to celebrate their graduation as a Junior Ranger.

Knowsley Academy 2024

Knowsley Academy
Our Knowsley Academy programme is designed for those aged 15 – 18 who are serious about a career working as a vet, zoologist, keeper, zoo educator or conservationist!

The days will run from 9:00am – 4:00pm. Participants will be given a certificate along with a large portfolio of their work to take home and use to further any applications/interviews. You can also add on a branded hoody for just £25! If you order a hoodie, please email VIP@knowsley.com with a size request. Please note that sizes will depend on stock availability.

This 2-day programme is designed for those serious about a career working as a vet, zoologist, keeper, zoo educator or conservationist. There will be a mix of theory sessions and practical activities based around the animals both on our foot safari and on our safari drive using the baboon bus! Animal activities may vary but can include making enrichment for our animals, an animal enclosure muck out, keeper Q&A and conducting behavioural studies.

We will also get stuck into some controversial issues facing animal welfare today and get a behind the scenes look at a day in the life of our Zoo Vet Jen. Throughout the 2 days we will explore the biology of some of the animals living here, including their habitats, diets and social structure. As well as this, we will take a look at the work our Research and Conservation team do both with us at Knowsley Safari and out in the Wild too!
